lovely book.

Always and Forever

"Someone who never has to pretend, and who I never have to pretend around. Someone who is smart, but knows how to laugh at himself. Someone who would listen to a symphony and start to cry; because he understands that music can be too big for words. Someone who knows me better than i know myself. Someone I want to talk to first thing in the morning and last thing at night. Someone I feel like I've known my whole life, even if i haven't."

nah this isn't part of my plans for the year but jodi picolt has it right.

" He taught me that what wasn't said was just as important as what was. "

"The music we choose is a clear reflection of who we really are."
"In music, perfect pitch is the ability to reproduce a tone without any reference to an external standard. in other words-there's no need to label or name notes, you can start singing a C-sharp, or you can listen to an A and know what it is. you can hear a car horn and know that it is an F.
In life, perfect pitch is the ability to know someone from the inside out, even better maybe than she knows herself. "

"Imagine if there was a pentatonic scale for life: if no matter what step you took, you could not strike a wrong note."
"Crying won't bring her back, but it makes me feel better."

I guess this is the same for many other disappointments and setbacks in life. :/

Hush, little baby, don't say a word,
Mama's going to buy you a mockingbird.
If that mockingbird won't sing,
Mama's going to buy you a diamond ring.

If that diamond ring turns brass,
Mama's going to buy you a looking glass.
If that looking glass gets broke,
Mama's going to buy you a billy goat.

If that billy goat won't pull,
Mama's going to buy you a cart and bull.
If that cart and bull turn over,
Mama's going to buy you a dog named Rover.

If that dog named Rover won't bark,
Mama's going to buy you a horse and cart.
If that horse and cart fall down,
You'll still be the sweetest little baby in town.
