it all started with a spark

have been doing alot of thinking over the past few days
being cooped up at home cos my my eyes and somewhat due to laziness as well
but yes

someone said something today that struck me particularly hard
to succeed in anything there are 2 things you need,  understanding and perseverance.

understanding comes from thinking and reflecting.
and most importantly, understanding comes from doing.

there are many things that i want to convey to my friends and people around me but somehow the message doesnt get across
but his words just managed to do that very thing i've been trying to do
it just tells me that it's possible loh
just try and try again
understand more and use your heart and sincerity to talk to people
share

no more just sitting around thinking
act on it
understand by action

success comes along the way
you'll never know when it will come
just have faith and believe and it will be yours one day
use everyday and make everyday count
starting from what you do today, tonight, this very second
to understand how you can make each day a better day

you cannot turn back the hands of time
start acting like what and who you want to become and things will happen

on another note, freedom is something that most, if not all, of us desire and hope we will have one day
it is probably many people's definition of success
but it is funny how much,or rather how little, people are willing to sacrifice for it
maybe its society, maybe its how we grew up
but then again, life is a sum of all choices and who we turn out to become is ultimately our choice
like the show by jack neo said, dont blame others for how your life turns out
life is about taking chances
taking chances is about thinking and weighing the possible outcomes
but how often do we think about why we should succeed more than why we should fail?
and that is the thing that stops many of us
and for myself
it is one thing that i would not want to look back and realise

if he can do it, so can i.

ohyes was watching the show "in time" last night, about 1 year since it was showing in theatres.
boy its scary how fast time has passed
still remember rie telling me about watching that show in the theatres before my a lvls
anyway yes the show was about this world where time was the currency
you dont use money to buy time
you use time to buy what money buys us today

as i was watching the show, i felt scared
people say money is dirty, money is the root of all evils but when the protagonist's mom died when she didnt have enough time left to get home after paying the bills it made me think.
our parents today are using, their time to earn money to support us, to support our hobbies
they are using their time, their life to exchange for our time, our life, our experiences
how long are we going to wait till you want to be able to return them that time
we can wait to enjoy life, but how long can they wait?

anyway going for alumni rehearsal brought back alot of memories
even though there were so many faces missing from that familiar crowded and so many new faces as well
i still felt really glad that i went
seeing my juniors grow
seeing the oh-so-familiar band room that hasnt changed much
feeling everything falll in place together
i love band and its not something that i can put into words

--> this is a good post, go read it

ah i'm definitely more comfortable on the computer keyboard
